2 injured Texas firefighters still serious, stable
BRYAN, Texas (AP) — Two Central Texas firefighters who suffered burns in a weekend blaze remain hospitalized amid preparations to remember two colleagues who died.
A spokeswoman at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston says Bryan firefighters Ricky Mantey (man-TYE’) Jr. and Mitchel Moran (muh-RAN’) were in serious but stable condition Tuesday.
A public memorial service will be held Wednesday in College Station for two firefighters who died from injuries suffered in the blaze at an unoccupied Knights of Columbus Hall. Separate funerals are planned later this week for Lt. Eric Wallace and Lt. Gregory Pickard.
Investigators say it could take months to pinpoint what started last Friday night’s fire in Bryan, located about 90 miles northwest of Houston. Wallace and Pickard died Saturday.
