Tarleton State University is hosting the 21st annual Tarleton Round Up, an annual day of service for students, faculty, staff and community members working together to help the Stephenville community. Participants complete projects like painting, raking leaves, tending to flower beds, washing windows and household chores for Stephenville residents who can’t complete tasks independently.
According to Erin Warner, Leadership and Service Programs Coordinator, registration is closed, but volunteers are still welcome to participate in the service projects. Those who want to sign up should meet at the Tarleton Softball Complex parking lot on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. ready to work.
“We are making new connections with the community and making sure everything is smooth for volunteers,” Warner said. “The weather is supposed to be good and we’re going to have a great day.”
Tarleton Round Up is a student-led and initiated program in cooperation with the City of Stephenville and other community organizations.
“We are college students and this is our one chance to give back to our residents of Stephenville,” said Ciara Hall, Public Relations Round Up Student Leader. “This is their home, and sometimes we don’t take the best care of it, so this is our way of giving back.”
