America’s Most Lethal Sniper and New York Times Best-Seller to be honored as Distinguished Alumnus at Tarleton State University

America’s most lethal sniper and New York Times best-seller, Chris Kyle, will be honored this evening at the Distinguished Alumni Gala hosted by Tarleton’s Alumni Association.

Kyle is a former Navy SEAL who is recorded to have the most confirmed kills in U.S. military history. He served from 1999 to 2009 and was deployed to Iraq four times.

Not only is Kyle the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history, but he is also a New York Times best-seller with his autobiography called “American Sniper.” In his book, Kyle recalls his life as a Navy SEAL and honors the many men and women who fought for our country.

Tonight Kyle will be honored as an Outstanding Young Alumnus along with Dr. Kenneth Wyatt ’46, Ms. Samantha Morrow ’87, Dr. Brad Chilton and Mr. Jerry Graham ’69, who will be honored as Distinguished Alumni, Faculty and Staff.

The gala will be hosted in the Barry B. Thompson student center this evening.
