Peace, Love and Good Hair Blow Dry Bar, LLC will open its doors soon in Stephenville for anyone looking for an updated hairstyle.
“We will be the first blow dry bar in Erath County. I wanted to bring big city services with the added small-town charm,” owner Emily Horton said.
This business offers a variety of hair services, including washing, blow drying and styling. Cost of service begins at $39.
Stylists use Dyson blow dryers and Color Wow products during clients’ customizable visits.
“You can pick from several blowout styles and levels of blowouts, adding extras like deep conditioning or head massage. We even have a service for guys,” Horton said. “We also offer braiding. One of our stylists specializes in all things braiding from box braiding to fish tails. Also updos.”
Clients can become Blowout Babe Club members for $119 a month. Members receive 10% off product, four wash/dry/styles a month, a free Birthday Blowout, a free Signature Peace Love Cocktail or Mocktail, a free upgrade each month and a complementary hat.

Horton opened this business to offer women time for self care and relaxation. She also had new cosmetology workers in mind.
“I wanted to provide a place for new stylists coming out of Ranger Beauty College or other beauty schools to start their cosmetology career without any overhead costs. Starting out in the Hair industry is hard,” Horton said. “You pay 100% of your expenses plus having to build a clientele. I believe our industry only gets better by supporting each other, help each other grow our skills and craft. At this moment I have hired five girls that have just newly graduated from Ranger.”
Horton won the Entrepreneurs of Erath business plan competition in May. Her first-place prize was a year-long membership to the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce and $10,000.
“It helped so much with creating a clear vision and business plan to help guide me these next few years,” Horton said. “Also, the money won helped pay for start-up costs. I was so thankful for both of those things. More small businesses need to utilize the SBDC at Tarleton and STEDCO that help put this competition on.”
Hours of operations are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Different hours can be requested, depending on availability.
