Stephenville Parks and Recreation will be hosting a Labor Day weekend firework show at Stephenville City Park Friday, Sept. 4. This firework show is acting as the replacement for the Fourth of July firework show that was canceled due the coronavirus.
The park will be open from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. and residents are encouraged to come and tailgate before the fireworks display. To help encourage social distancing there will be designated no tailgating spots.

The fireworks display is set to start following the conclusion of the Stephenville High School Football game at Tarleton State University’s Memorial Stadium. Those attending the football game will be able to see the fireworks from Memorial Stadium.
Parking will be available at the South Graham Avenue park entrance as well as at the West Long park entrance. A portion of the park that runs alongside US-377 will be closed off to the public as it will be used to store and launch the fireworks. The remaining portion of the park will be open for tailgating.
The city is asking those who plan to be in attendance to please maintain a distance of six feet from other groups.
For any further questions regarding the Labor Day weekend fireworks show, please call the Stephenville Parks Department at 254-918-1295.
