After a long semester, commencement weekend at Tarleton State University for spring 2022 begins on May 13. Each ceremony will take place in Memorial Stadium.
Commencement for the College of Health Sciences & Human Services and College of Liberal and Fine Arts will be on May 13 at 9 a.m.
Senior Cheyenne Nash is graduating from the College of Liberal and Fine Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with a focus in Musical Theatre.
“The thought of graduating makes me very excited but also very nervous. I’m having doubts if I’m ready as I’m sure we all are and don’t want to leave the people I’ve met along the way. But I know they’ll be with me wherever I go,” Nash said. “I plan on returning to the Austin area to pursue theatrical lighting design and performance while scouting out MFA programs I might be interested in applying for. We will see where that takes me.”
The College of Business and College of Science & Technology commencement ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. on May 13.
The final commencement ceremony will be for the College of Education & Human Development and College of Agriculture & Natural Resources on May 14 at 9 a.m.
According to the Tarleton website, all guests with tickets will gather in Memorial Stadium, which will open for entrance 1 hour and 15 minutes before the ceremony begins.
Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the College of Health Sciences and Human Services, Rose Powers has already made plans for after graduation.
“I honestly have mixed emotions about graduating. The main one being excited to be somewhat done with school and going into the career I dreamed to be in,” Powers said. “My plans for after graduation is pass my NCLEX exam and start my new job working as a cardiovascular intensive care unit nurse (CVICU) at Medical City Arlington.”
Graduation ceremonies will run for approximately 90-120 minutes. Diplomas are mailed 4-6 weeks after graduation.
For many students, graduation is not only the end of their academic career but also the beginning of a life-long journey.
