Tarleton football just had their Spring Showcase on April 23. Here is what you can expect for next season.
Sept. 1: VS. Mississippi Valley State (MSVU) – Purple Out
This game against MVSU will be the first matchup between the two. The Delta Devils are members of the Division I (DI) Southwestern Athletic Conference. In 2021, they were 4-7.
The game should be the perfect way to kick off the 2022 season.
Sept. 10: At Texas Christian University
This will be the first time the Texans and Horned Frogs go head-to-head. The Big 12 Conference member was 5-7 during their 2021 season.
Sept. 17: VS. Eastern New Mexico (ENMU) – Family Weekend
The Texans have played the Greyhounds 14 times since 2005. Tarleton has an 11-3 record against the former Lone Star Conference rival. ENMU was 4-7 during the 2021 season and 1-6 in conference play.
Sept. 24: At North Alabama
This will be the first matchup between the Texans and the Lions. UNA is a member of the DI ASUN Conference. The Lions went 3-8 last season and 2-4 in conference play.
Oct. 1: At Lamar
The Texans will head to Beaumont for their second all-time meeting with the Cardinals. Tarleton dominated Lamar with a 42-21 finish during their first matchup.
Oct. 8: At Southern Utah
A road game against Southern Utah will mark the season’s first conference game. In the last meeting against the Thunderbirds, the Texans had a tough 40-35 loss. Last year Southern Utah had a losing season with 1-10.
Oct. 22: VS. Sam Houston State – Pink Out
Tarleton hosts the Bearkats for the annual pink-out game. This game will be the third meeting between the two. The Texans dropped the 2021 match-up, claiming a 45-27 victory. The Bearkats were 11-1 in the 2021 season.
Oct. 29: VS. University of Incarnate Word (UIW) – Homecoming
For the annual Homecoming Game, the Texans will have their first match-up with the Cardinals since 2012. Tarleton has won all three of the games against UIW. The Cardinals finished the 2021 season with a 10-3 record.

Nov. 5: At Stephen F. Austin (SFA)
Tarleton heads to Nacogdoches for a conference game and third-ever meeting with the Lumberjacks. The Texans have a 2-1 record against SFA, with the 2021 game delivering their first loss (20-10). SFA went 8-4 last season and will surely give another thrilling event.
Nov. 12: VS. Abilene Christian (ACU) – Military Appreciation
The Texans will host ACU for the first time since 2011 for their Military Appreciation Game. This game will be the last one in conference play. Historically, the Texans are 3-7 against the Wildcats. In their previous match-up, Tarleton took a tough 3-29 loss. ACU went 5-6 on the 2021 season and 2-2 in WAC play.
Nov. 19: VS. Houston Baptist (HBU) – Legends Game
Tarleton will host HBU for their first-ever meeting. Huskies football is a member of the Southland Conference. In 2021, HBU had a losing season with a 0-11 record. This match-up will be a great game to close the program’s third DI season.
