Texan Softball is in the Final Stretch

Texan softball has a month left in their second season as Western Athletic Conference (WAC) members. They are 23-17 and 8-7 in conference play. 

Notable Performances Among WAC Rankings

Shortstop Morgan Medford tops the WAC rankings in at-bats with 132. Katy Schaefer and Georgia Capell are not far behind at No. 5 and No. 9, respectively.

The trio appears among the top ranking for hits. Capell and Schaefer are tied at No. 3 with 45, and Medford is tied at No. 5 with 43.

Capell is tied at No. 5 in doubles with nine. Freshman Austin Germain and Medford are among an eight-way tie for third in triples with two. 

The team sits at No. 3 in the WAC in home runs with 32. Tarleton’s Home Run Queen tops the player rankings, tied at No. 1 with 13 homers. 

Infielders Capell and Schaefer appear among ranks with runs batted in. The duo is tied at No. 3 with 40. 

Tarleton pitching sits at No. 4 in strikeouts with 191. They have a combined earned run average (ERA) of 3.71. 

Junior Tristin Bridges is 9-7 on the season. She has a personal ERA of 3.34. Bridges is among the top 10 in multiple categories in WAC rankings. 

The left-hander is No. 6 in strikeouts with 75. She also is No. 6 in innings pitched with 111. 

Reagan Chism, a Stephen F. Austin transfer, sits at 5-3 and has an ERA of 2.41. Kennedy Ferguson is 5-1 with an ERA of 2.95. 

Up Next

The Texans return home for an Easter weekend series against Abilene Christian on April 15 and 16.
