Stephenville’s Fourth of July festivities will continue as planned. There are events and activities scheduled throughout the day for people of all ages to enjoy.
A Disney themed parade will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 4.
The Stephenville Chamber website states, “[The] parade will begin at the South entrance of the City Park near Splashville, will then go North on Graham, West on Washington and end at Harbin.”
There is also still time to register floats for the parade. Registration ends June 30 at 11 p.m. online.
Participants are not allowed to hand out candy, flyers, waters or any other item in order to minimize contact with spectators.
Splashville will be open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. for people to cool off from the summer heat.
At the Stephenville City Park, food trucks will be set up and a chalk art competition will begin at 3 p.m. as well as lawnmower races located at the grass field near the Birdsong Amphitheater parking lot and Bosque River. Registration and admission are free. Registration begins at 1 p.m., there will be a practice at 2 p.m. and then the racing begins. There are five different categories to compete in. Stock, Modified Singles, Modified Twins, Super Modified, and Top Eliminated. Helmets are required for all racers.
Head over to Birdsong Amphitheater at 8 p.m. to hear the Tejas Brothers, Davin James and Larry Joe Taylor play some music, then stick around for the fireworks show that will begin around 10 p.m.
