Texan Reps are current students representing the Tarleton State University community; they show prospective students what life is like at Tarleton. These student tour guides go into detail with each tour they give, factoring in our university history, traditions and campus life.
Tarleton is full of smiling faces. I know the first way I described Tarleton after my first tour was, “It just felt like home, everyone was so welcoming.” — a quote I continue to hear incoming freshmen say to detail their first impression of the Stephenville campus.
These lasting first experiences on our lovely campus are in a large part because of Texan Reps. Their friendly personalities, love for Tarleton and education about a university they care for so much shines through in every future Texan they talk to.
Jeremy Green is a senior at Tarleton and has been a Texan Rep for the last three years. Green is a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity and was on the 2025 Homecoming Court.
“Being a Texan Rep has given me a greater appreciation for Tarleton State’s history and traditions,” Green said. “I’ve gotten to meet countless purple-blooded alumni and walk them through our campus’s new additions, as well as meet families who have never experienced our school or community, allowing me to be their first impression.”
Texan Reps allows students to share their love for Tarleton with prospective students, and it is a vital organization that continues to influence future Texans.
Tanner Wells has been a Texan Rep for six months and is currently a senior at Tarleton. Wells was crowned the 2025 Homecoming King this past October.
“I like to think that, obviously Tarleton is growing a lot. But the small town, family feel of the community, that feeling has always stayed the same in my opinion, despite us growing,” Wells said. “Texan Reps has grown my love for the university immensely. I got to learn more about our traditions and culture, and I have found a new found respect for Tarleton.”
In 2025 alone, the Texan Reps welcomed more than 21,000 guests onto campus. In total, they gave more than 70 hours of tours, conducting 928 tours in total. These numbers show just how hard Texan Reps work for the future of Tarleton.
Aubrey Dyas is a senior at Tarleton and has been a part of the Texan Rep program since the summer of 2024. After graduating in May 2025, Dyas plans to attend the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Tarleton.
“We give the tours, and we’re most individual’s first impression of Tarleton, so we make sure to make the right impression and make people feel like they can see themselves at home here at Tarleton,” Dyas said. “So showing them that Tarleton State is a good place and making sure to keep Tarleton State the friendliest campus on Earth—that’s our motto.”
Texan Reps strive to welcome all prospective students into the Tarleton community and influence the future of our university, one tour at a time.
