Baskin-Robbins celebrated the grand opening of its Stephenville shop Saturday, Sept. 26, with discounted ice cream, music and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The shop sits next to Buffalo Wild Wings and offered a 31-cent scoop to the first 50 guests in line, starting at 11 a.m. Scoops were also available for $1.31 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a limit of four per guest.
DJ and prize-wheel giveaways were also a part of the celebration. At noon, the franchise owner, David Brumfield, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Afterward, he and the Baskin-Robbins Joy in Childhood Foundation presented $1,000 to Erath County United Way.
The Stephenville shop is Brumfield’s third Baskin-Robbins location. He said his family’s connection to Tarleton State University and appreciation for Stephenville drew them to the area.
“We love Tarleton State and the genuine sense of community that makes Stephenville special,” Brumfield said in a statement. “We want this shop to be a welcoming place where families can spend time together, students can celebrate their wins or recharge during finals week, and neighbors can connect.”
The 1,100-square-foot shop employs 18 people and has seating for 22 indoors and 30 outdoors. Its regular hours are 9 a.m. to midnight daily.
